myNexus CEO wins Institute of Directors Non-Executive Director of the Year Award

CEO of myNexus Limited, James McMillan, was announced as the winner of a prestigious Director of the Year Award 2020 (North West & Isle of Man) in the category of Non-Executive Director on July 15, in the first ever virtual awards ceremony for the Institute of Directors.

Presenting the award by video, Jonathan Lowe from RSM, announced that all the category nominees had been highly commended by the judges due to the strength of the applications, highlighting the significant achievement for James.

The award was given to James for his work in a voluntary Non-Executive capacity for Stockport Credit Union for leading the board through a difficult restructure and establishing an audit committee and best practice governance.

James will go on to compete with all the other regional winners for the UK-wide final later in the year.

About the Winner

James joined Stockport Credit Union in January 2019 as Chair of the Audit Committee. This is James’ first Non-Executive Director role. He is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years’ experience in business having worked since he was 14 and is also co-founder and CEO of myNexus Limited.

James lives in central Manchester and his connection to the organisation stem from his Grandparents who have lived in Stockport all his life.
